This raises the first serious problem for commentators:2 how comprehensively should they list the names of scholars who adhere to some particular point of view? Eadie’s lists sometimes run far beyond two lines, and that merely of names without references; if all the names of scholars were listed today and proper references given in the modern manner, many lines of type would be required and far too many trees would have to be cut down to provide the paper for them!
